Donald Trump Jr. speaks to supporters of his father's re-election campaign at Cedar Spring Pavilion in Tipp City

On Wednesday afternoon, Donald Trump Jr. spoke at a Trump for President event in Tipp City.

He rallied several hundred supporters of his father’s race for president at the Cedar Springs Pavilion. The venue is an old world, Italian style pavilion “where elegance meets nature,” according to its website. The property features a native prairie and a cascading waterfall. It’s usually rented for weddings.

After a prayer lead by Mary Beth Kemmer, the President of the Ohio Federation of Republican Women, and a recitation of the pledge of allegiance from Miami County Sheriff Dave Duchak, Ohio State Representative Jena Powell spoke first.

“We are on the verge of overturning Roe v. Wade and that is incredible,” she said, to loud applause. “I know how much our community cares about protecting the most vulnerable among us.”

Trump, Jr. then spoke for about 35 minutes, eliciting loud boos from the crowd when he mentioned Joe Biden and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. He didn’t say anything specific about Ohio, but did say he had to come to Tipp City to get his message out because of the “biased media.”

"He's (Biden) slow and he's weak but it's easy to be slow and weak when you have the media as your marketing arm," he said. "When you have people who won't follow up with questions."

Few people in the crowd wore masks, but there was a variety of apparel.

Supporters wore #buildthatwall hats, Trump University alumni shirts, and NRA buttons. And there was a supporter in the line outside the event wearing a sweatshirt with a QAnon conspiracy theory emblem.
