It’s hard to believe we’ve been having oure little weekly get-togethers for over 4 ½ years now, isn’t it? With that in mind, I’ve felt the need to shake things up a little and make a change. Starting this week, we’ll no longer be doing big weekly themes. From here on out, the flow of the show’s going to be a little more organic, with smaller mini-themes and threads sprinkled through the playlist- a leaner, cleaner, more maneuverable Jewel Case, if you will. Don’t fret- we’ll still do big themes from time to time, but they’ll be more in the spirit of special editions, rather than the backbone of every show. I’m super excited about the change; this week’s show was an absolute blast to put together: Patti Smith, Red Baraat, Shirley Scott, a Mick Ronson tribute, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Captain Beefheart, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Althea & Donna, Fairport Convention, Pink Floyd, and SCADS more.
