In response to the events on Courthouse Square on Saturday is providing the gorgeous film LOVING. This film speaks to the struggle of deep-seated racism in America and is on Saturday, at noon with tickets available on a first come, first serve basis.
The 15th Annual Patriot Freedom Festival is at the campus of the Dayton VA Medical Center. It's a family-friendly weekend event on Memorial Day weekend and is open to the public with no admission and plenty of parking! The Festival features historical reenactments, children’s activities and food vendors. It’s Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 6pm.
A special Memorial Day Weekend is a movie presentation called World War II on an LST, by local award-winning filmmaker Diana Spitler. It also has honored guest Radioman 1st Class, Marion Adams. The film will screen for one night only on Saturday at 6pm. Doors will open at 5 and include an artifact display of WWII. After the movie there’s a Q&A.
The Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, is taking the stage again this year to present a Memorial Day Weekend Concert. It’s the featured performance of the Dayton Heritage Day on Sunday, at 7pm.
