If you see and hear first responder vehicles near Great American Ball Park at The Banks Thursday morning, don't panic. First responders are practicing how to respond in a mass casualty event like a natural disaster or terrorist attack.
"We're always looking for ways of how to better inform the public, communicate across the agencies and partners that need to know the information faster," says Christa Hyson. She works for The Health Collaborative, which organizes the drill every three years.
Hyson says feedback from the drills will help update the After-Action Report, a guide for all first responder organizations.
The drill will run from 8-11 a.m. Thursday. The Health Collaborative is warning people near The Banks not to panic and call the police.
During the exercise, Mehring Way near the ball park will be down to one lane in each direction.
Joe Nuxhall Way will be closed to all vehicles between Second Street and Mehring Way until noon.
