Ruffalo stars as Cincinnati attorney Robert Bilott, who sued DuPont in 1999 on behalf of a West Virginia farmer. The script was developed from Nathaniel Rich's New York Times Magazine article, "The Lawyer Who Became DuPont's Worst Nightmare" published on Jan. 6, 2016.
