The United States is the world's leading consumer of coffee, with Americans drinking 400 million cups of coffee per day. Most coffee lovers have their favorite blend or brand and preferred brewing method, and about a third of them like it black. But what goes into making a good cup of coffee, and why do we make drinking it an integral part of our daily lives?
Joining us for a look at the social and economic aspects of coffee, and its appreciation, is Miami University Department of History Professor and Owner of the Oxford Coffee Company, Dr. Robert Thurston. Dr. Thurston also edited the book, Coffee:A Comprehensive Guide to the Bean, the Beverage, and the Industry.
