The decision backs the recommendation of an NYPD administrative judge earlier this month that Pantaleo should be fired for his role in Garner's death in 2014.

NYPD Officer Daniel Pantaleo was found guilty of using a banned chokehold but not guilty of intentionally restricting Garner's breathing in 2014. The department says he has now been suspended.

Prosecutors say Sayfullo Saipov left a note declaring he drove onto a bike path in Manhattan in the name of ISIS. Eight people were killed. Saipov was shot by a police officer and is recovering.

Rahami, 28, was captured after a gun battle with police in Linden, N.J. Images on local media showed him on a stretcher with what appeared to be a wound on his upper arm or shoulder.
