Some small businesses throughout Ohio say they are opposing Issue 1 even though big lobby groups that represent them are for it.

The Libertarian Party of Ohio has filed a complaint claiming Republican Secretary of State Frank LaRose is violating the federal law that bars state officials from using their official authority to interfere with elections.

Early voting runs from July 11 to Aug. 4 on weekdays at county boards of elections across Ohio and Aug. 5 and 6 the weekend before the election.

Republicans who support Issue 1 have said they expect more Ohio voters to cast ballots in the Aug. 8 special election than did in last August's legislative primary, because of the attention on the issue to make it harder to change the constitution.
