In a new filing, federal prosecutors allege that Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes was in direct contact before and on Jan. 6 with individuals who stormed the Capitol.

An insurrection task force directed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says U.S. Capitol Police need more support to address security weaknesses. The review was led by retired Lt. Gen. Russel Honoré.

Many charged in the Capitol riot mentioned antifa in relation to the attack, describing the anti-fascist movement as an enemy and refuting the baseless claim that Trump supporters weren't involved.

Jessica Watkins, a central Ohioan who participated in the January 6 storming of the U.S. Capitol, will remain in jail until her trial. The Washington, D.C. federal district court judge’s decision to hold Watkins, despite the pretrial release of other alleged participants in the riot, focused on her leadership role in an antigovernment militia.

The officials testifying Tuesday resigned in the wake of the Jan. 6 insurrection. Former Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund said, "None of the intelligence we received predicted what actually occurred."

The Justice Department charged six more members of a far-right militia group for allegedly plotting ahead of the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection. At least three others were already charged from the group.

The U.S. Capitol Police has suspended six officers with pay for their actions during the Capitol riots on January 6. A further 29 officers are under investigation.
