Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam says the team will hire a new head coach first, then allow the coach to have a say in who is hired as general manager after the firings of coach Freddie Kitchens and GM John Dorsey earlier this week.

Two days after firing first-year head coach Freddie Kitchens, the Cleveland Browns are also parting ways with the team's general manager. The team announced Tuesday that John Dorsey, who was hired in December 2017, is leaving the organization.

The Cleveland Browns have fired head coach Freddie Kitchens after one season. “We are disappointed in our results and feel a change is necessary,” said Browns General Manager John Dorsey in a statement. Cleveland entered the season with high expectations after trading for receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Instead, the Browns’ 33-23 loss to 2-14 Cincinnati Sunday dropped their record to 6-10.
