A pool of potential jurors were in the court building, waiting to start the selection process. But they're being sent home for the day.

A Minnesota Judge rejected the request to move the trial of the four police officers accused in the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

Filed as part of a motion to dismiss charges against one of the officers, the transcripts also appear to show an officer expressing concern about Floyd's well-being in the moments before his death.

George Floyd's death at the hands of police sparked protests around the world. His family's private service Tuesday follows public memorials that drew thousands of mourners.

In a handwritten note on the order for conditional release, the judge added a stipulation for Chauvin: "Do not work in law enforcement or security."

The agreement between the city and state human rights authorities promises several reforms. It comes after the state opened a civil rights investigation into the city's police department.

Derek Chauvin now faces an additional charge of second-degree murder, and three other former Minneapolis police officers are accused of aiding and abetting murder.

A new official autopsy, released on the heels of one commissioned by Floyd's family, says he died due to "cardiopulmonary arrest." It also noted neck compression, heart disease and drug use.
