Baldwin Wallace University is reconsidering its long-standing affiliation with the United Methodist Church, following the church's vote in February reaffirming its ban on same sex marriages and LGBT clergy. The ban puts the church at odds with BW's commitment to supporting its lesbian, gay and transgender faculty, staff and students. The BW Board of Trustees will take up the issue of disaffiliation at its meeting on April 26.

The legacies of a Baldwin Wallace University theater professor and a Northeast Ohio playwright are now in question following accusations of sexual misconduct. Baldwin Wallace announced Monday that it received what it called "credible information" about sexual misconduct allegations against William Allman and John Patrick, both now deceased. As such, a statement from the University, said the names of Allman and Patrick will be removed from campus theater buildings.
