Abortion protestors at Ohio Statehouse on June 29, 2021.

A Hamilton County judge has imposed a two-week block on Ohio’s law that bans abortion when fetal cardiac activity is detected. The two-week pause makes legal abortions up until about 20 weeks gestation.

In the meantime, state lawyers will work on changing the judge’s mind starting Monday afternoon about the temporary ban while the case against it wends its way to the Ohio Supreme Court.

We'll discuss how the switchbacks on abortion rights work and the politics surrounding it.
