Volunteer healthcare workers test people at a COVID-19 pop-up testing site sponsored by a health care group Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021, in Columbus. Hundreds of people showed up for the free test creating long lines.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention last week shortened the number of days a COVID-positive person must isolate, from 10 days to five days if symptom-free.

The new guidelines stopped short of requiring testing after the isolation period, a position that comes as the highly contagious omicron variant infects a record number of people in Ohio and across the U.S.

Today on Wellness Wednesday on All Sides with Ann Fisher, an infectious disease expert explains the new guidelines.
