Freda Levenson, ACLU of Ohio legal director, appears before the Ohio Supreme Court in Columbus, during oral arguments in a constitutional challenge to new legislative district maps on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021.

The justices of the Ohio Supreme Court heard arguments last week in a case brought by voting rights groups challenging Ohio's new state legislative district lines.

The new lines were drawn by the Ohio Redistricting Commission under a new plan approved by voters in 2015. All eyes are on Chief Justice Maureen O'Connor, a Republican, who is seen as a potential swing vote with the remainder the justices split 3-3 among Republicans and Democrats.

Also before heading home for the holidays, the Ohio General Assembly passed a sports betting bill that would put oversight with the Ohio Casino Control Commission

We are talking about this and more on All Sides with Ann Fisher’s weekly reporter roundtable.
