Ohio reported more than 5,000 new coronavirus infections in a 24-hour period twice within the past seven days. That’s the first time that’s happened in seven months.
In part, the more contagious delta variant is working its way through the population. And, now that the mask mandate has ended in Ohio, spreading the disease will get easier.
Public health officials have said that vaccination is key to stopping the virus. However some state lawmakers last week heard hours of testimony on a bill that would outlaw all vaccine mandates in Ohio.
