The U.S. Attorney’s office has charged FirstEnergy Corp. with wire fraud in connection with ongoing investigation over HB6, the nuclear bailout law.

Akron-based FirstEnergy has agreed to pay a $230 million penalty and has admitted that it conspired with public officials and others to get the law enacted.
