The fight to free Britney Spears from her conservatorship has brought to the forefront issues that disability rights advocates have long sought to address.

An estimated 1.3 million Americans live under some form of conservatorship. Advocates hope that the spotlight currently on the system will lead to reform.

Today on All Sides with Ann Fisher, we talk about conservatorship, what it is and how it can be reformed.

Guests:

  • Emily Yahr, pop culture reporter, The Washington Post
  • Jonathan Martinis, senior director for Law and Policy at Syracuse University's Burton Blatt Institute
  • Jasmine E. Harris, law professor at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School
