Data shows routine childhood vaccinations fell sharply in the first months of the coronavirus pandemic as stay-at-home orders and other restrictions went into effect.
Although vaccination rates began to rebound last summer, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warn the lag in inoculations could pose “a serious public health threat” and open the door for outbreaks of preventable diseases such as measles and whooping cough.
