More than a half-million visitors typically descend upon Columbus for the annual Stonewall Columbus Pride Festival and March in June. But this and last year, the pandemic has turned the tables on large gatherings.
The event started in 1981 with 200 people and since has grown into a cultural and economic force for central Ohio.
Today on All Sides with Ann Fisher, we discuss the toll of the pandemic on the Stonewall Columbus Pride Festival and March and the larger LGBTQ+ struggle for equality.
Guests:
- Densil Porteous, executive director, Stonewall Columbus
- Stephen Engel, professor, author of “Disrupting Dignity: Rethinking Power and Progress in LGBTQ Lives"
- Julia Applegate, director, Equitas Health Institute
