On Wednesday, Britain became the first Western country to authorize the Pfizer vaccine, clearing the way for mass inoculations to curb COVID-19, which has killed more than 1.4 million people worldwide.

The Pfizer vaccine is expected to arrive in Ohio next week, offering hope and relief to front-line health care workers.

Hospitalizations due to the coronavirus have jumped 200% in the last month, with rural areas bearing the brunt.
