Ohio Health Director Dr. Amy Acton resigned last week.
She will stay on the state payroll as an advisor to the governor, but the announcement came as a shock to Ohioans who had grown used to the daily coronavirus updates that included her often comforting presence.
Not everyone was enamored, however.
