Housing Security During A Pandemic

The first of the month is quickly approaching, and for many who now face unemployment due to the coronavirus pandemic, the prospect of paying rent looks uncertain.

To address this as well as other major housing concerns, Congress’ $2.2 trillion dollar stimulus package includes measures like $2 billion in rental assistance, $685 million to public housing, as well as a temporary moratorium for evictions.

For Ohio, major challenges exist in homeless shelters and programs, which are suffering with overcrowding and the need for essential supplies.
