Transgender women and girls would be barred from competing in female-only high school and college sports under a bill announced last week in the Ohio House.
Sponsors of the bill say athletes who are designated male at birth have physiological advantages over females, and the legislation is designed to level the playing field.
But LGBTQ advocates say singling out transgender kids is discriminatory.
