The primary election season will sweep through Ohio on March 17.

For the first time, voters in Ohio's 3rd Congressional District will have a choice in who takes the Democratic nomination.

Morgan Harper, a Columbus native and lawyer who previously worked for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, is challenging incumbent Rep. Joyce Beatty, who has held the seat since it was first drawn up in 2012.

Today on All Sides, we hear from both candidates and discuss what this race means for Ohio.

Guests:

  • Joyce Beatty, U.S. Representative for Ohio’s 3rd Congressional District
  • Morgan Harper, Democratic challenger for Ohio's 3rd Congressional District
  • Wendy Smooth, associate professor of women’s, gender and sexuality studies and political science, Ohio State University
