Hackers in 2017 exploited weaknesses in Equifax’s cybersecurity network to steal sensitive personal data of nearly half of all Americans.
On Monday, the Justice Department announced charges against four members of Chinese military on suspicion of stealing trade secrets and personal data.
While not the largest known breach, it is considered the most damaging.
