Ohio State President Michael V. Drake, as chair of the board of governors for the National Collegiate Athletic Association, is leading a charge against the California bill that would permit college athletes in that state to earn income from their name, image and likeness.
The NCAA says that the measure would give California schools an unfair competitive advantage in the recruitment process, and would eventually disqualify them from participation in NCAA competitions.
