The full depth of the blue wave that appeared to sweep much of the country outside of Ohio on Election Day is starting to be felt as the picture grows grimmer for Republicans.
An at-first modest Democratic majority in the U.S. House has grown stronger with the party on track to gain as many as 40 seats when the counting is over.
And the Democratic losses in the U.S. Senate are fewer after Arizona elections officials declared Democrat Kyrsten Sinema the winner on Monday.
