The United Nations conference on climate change kicked off in Paris this week, and on Monday, President Obama addressed America's role as a major emitter of greenhouse gases. Since 1880, the Earth had warmed by about 1.7 degrees Fahrenheit, a fairly high increase according to scientists. Over the next 30 years, scientists say that climate is likely reflect heavier rainfalls, intense hurricanes and typhoons, and more frequent and damaging coastal floods.
