The definition of family is changing and with it comes new and sensitive challenges. With the LGBT movement on the rise, the idea that a family only consists of a married heterosexual man and woman is no longer accurate. The Supreme Court's same-sex marriage ruling has provided the means for same-sex couples to obtain joint paternal rights in America but many expensive challenges still exist for these individuals.
Guests:
- Joshua Gamson, Professor of Sociology at the University of San Francisco and author of “Modern Families: Stories of Extraordinary Journeys to Kinship."
