Family meals are connected to better dietary practices.

Parents are likely to overlook a child's rudimentary art skills or amateur musicianship, but they're also inaccurate judges when it comes to healthy weight. We'll talk about what one doctor calls "oblivious obesity" this hour. Plus, we'll discuss the latest breakthroughs in the field of molecular genetics and more about a proposed bill that could increase access to primary care.

Guests

  • Diann Nelson-Houser, past president of the Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses
  • Peter Mohler, director of the Davis Heart and Lung Research Center at OSU
  • Ben Weisbuch, heart patient and advocate, founder of Heart Hope Foundation
  • Dr. David Katz, founder of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center and president of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine

This show originally aired on May 27, 2015 at 11 a.m.
