Columbus City Councilwoman Elizabeth Brown wants to be the next elected Franklin County Commissioner. On Thursday, Brown announced on Twitter she's running for the position. She said it will enable her to keep "fighting on behalf of Ohio's working families."
Former commissioner Marilyn Brown retired last week to spend more time with her 92-year-old mother.
By the end of June, the Franklin County Democrats will appoint a permanent replacement to finish Marilyn Brown’s term which ends in 2022.
Elizabeth Brown, who is the daughter of Ohio U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown, has served on Columbus City Council since 2016. She was reelected in 2019 and currently serves as the city council's president pro tempore.
