Franklin County Treasurer Cheryl Brooks Sullivan continues to fight the foreclosure on her Sunbury Road house in Mifflin Township.
Franklin County court records show an August 25 hearing date after a judge in September approved the lender's motion for a judgment in the case.
Freedom Mortgage's foreclosure action was filed in 2022. U.S. Bank National Association now holds the mortgage and said Sullivan owes $318,468 in principal and interest.
In a statement Friday, Sullivan's lawyer, Troy Doucet, said she is committed to finding a resolution with the mortgage servicing companies.
"Treasurer Sullivan has worked tirelessly to resolve this issue with her lender as mortgage servicing has transferred from one company to another," Doucet said.
According to court papers, Sullivan has argued that U.S. Bank cannot enforce the note and mortgage because it didn't hold the original note and mortgage when Freedom Mortgage filed suit three years ago.
