The Ohio Auditor's Office has issued findings for recovery of $103,606 against former Blendon Township administrator Bryan Rhoads for unauthorized compensation, vacation leave payouts and misuse of township credit cards.

The special audit released Tuesday says that while serving as administrator, Rhoads received improper compensation of $89,143 as a part-time second lieutenant in the township's police department. The township is in northern Franklin County.

The report also said that he was overpaid a total of $9,476 for unused vacation pay.

Rhoads also used township credit cards for personal purchases, including $2,541 in charges to Banana Republic, $870 to the Men's Wearhouse, $832 to DoorDash and $741 to Swan Cleaners.

Rhoads served as administrator from 2012 to 2022.

The Ohio Auditor's Office said that so far Rhoads has repaid $561.
