A professor at Ohio State University's Fisher College of Business has been appointed to a White House position to examine supply chain issues.
John Gray, who teaches data analysis and global sourcing to undergraduate, graduate, and executive education students, has been appointed to be an unpaid advisor to the White House's Office of Science and Technology Policy.
His work will focus on supply chain issues as part of the office's pandemic preparedness team, according to a news release, from the Fisher College of Business.
Gray said he is excited to help create policy around healthcare supply chains, which have garnered more attention since the start of the pandemic.
“Since my dissertation, a key part of my research has been related to pharmaceutical supply chains, with a more recent focus on public policy,” Gray said. “It is exciting for me to be able to directly contribute to policy formulation, especially at this time when society recognizes the importance of safe, effective and resilient supply chains for all of our critical health care products.”
Gray’s has also been appointed as co-academic director of Fisher’s newly announced online Master of Supply Chain Management program.
Prior to pursuing a doctoral degree and teaching at Ohio State, Gray worked in operations management at an FDA-regulated facility at P&G for eight years.
