The Franklin County prosecuting attorney’s office is taking a step toward training its leadership staff on diversity, equity and inclusion.

Franklin County commissioners on Tuesday are expected to fund a $35,000 contract with a consultant.

Under the contract, Raising the Bar Performance Group would conduct a “cultural climate assessment” of the prosecutor’s office to identify diversity, equity and inclusion needs. The consultants would also direct two planning and implementation meetings to instruct senior leadership.

The commissioners’ resolution states Prosecuting Attorney Gary Tyack “has identified a need” for training on diversity, equity and inclusion.

Raising the Bar Performance Group is a Columbus-based, Black-woman-owned business that helps organizations improve communications and interactions involving diversity, cultural competency, implicit bias, team building and leadership development.
