Miles Per Gallon
DeWine wants to raise the state’s gasoline tax by 18 cents a gallon to help fund the maintenance and construction of Ohio’s highways and bridges. DeWine campaigned on the promise not to raise taxes, but ODOT claims that they are facing an "impending crisis" with a $1 billion shortfall in the department budget.
Raising the tax, which was recommended by a transportation committee assembled by the governor, would generate some $1.2 billion for state and local projects. But not everybody's excited about paying more at the pump.
What Happens In Vegas
Sen. Sherrod Brown continued his "Dignity of Work" tour with a stop in Nevada. Though he hasn't officially announced his run for president, he'll have to prove that he can quickly raise big money like some of the other Democrats who have already declared their intentions... or get very lucky at the craps table.

Leslie McCrae Dowless, a Republican political operative in North Carolina, allegedly ran an operation that collected and tampered with absentee ballots in the district held by Rep. John Harris.
