Sherrod Watch 2020
Last week we speculated, now we know. Sen Sherrod Brown is seriously considering a run for president in 2020. He could face a pretty crowded Democratic field - and maybe even Gov. John Kasich on the Republican side.
Duck Bills
Republican lawmakers in Ohio are back and ready for action with a slew of controversial bills under consideration. Among them are Republican-backed bills on campus free speech and the revival of the "Heartbeat Bill," a strict anti-abortion ban that was vetoed by Kasich back in 2016.
Republicans have already passed a "Stand Your Ground" bill, despite strong protest from the Ohio Legislative Black Caucus. Debate on the floor was contentious and Democratic state Rep. Stephanie Howse's microphone was cut off during an exchange with Republican House Speaker Ryan Smith.
Kasich is likely to veto "Stand Your Ground" if it gets to his desk, but Republicans have a supermajority and could override that veto.

Brown is not the only one who is looking ahead to the next presidential election.
