Buckeyes Prepare For Big Ten Championship Game

File

Steve Brown and Thomas Bradley discuss this week in sports in Ohio. That includes a preview of Ohio State's Big Ten Championship Game against Wisconsin, the OHSAA playoffs in Ohio Stadium and much, much more.

Buckeyes

The Buckeyes are still in the hunt for a national championship, but can they continue winning with a third string quarterback? Steve Brown and Thomas Bradley discuss Ohio State’s chances heading into this weekend. Do the Buckeyes have a shot at the playoffs? Will they win the Big Ten Championship Game? Will they be able to slow down Melvin Gordon?

Concussions

There’s no easy way to put it. The loss of a teammate, a friend and any human life is tough. And this was no exception for the Ohio State Buckeyes this week as they mourn the loss of Kosta Karageorge. It was reported that Karageorge suffered from concussions, and reportedly sent a text to his family saying that concussions had “his head all f—– up.” How can sports change so that these tragedies stop happening? What needs to change in the culture of contact sports?

Cleveland QB

Johnny Manziel? Brian Hoyer? You decide. Which quarterback should the Browns be starting for this weekend? Head coach Mike Pettine said “Hoyer,” what say you?

The 14th ranked men’s team started out 5-0 before losing its first really tough game of the season against number five Louisville. They lost 64-55, but it wasn’t really that close for most of the game. What did we learn about the Buckeyes from the Louisville game?
