The Buckeyes continue to move up in the college football rankings, but is it too little, too late?
A busy show this week: we’ll talk to the reporter who broke the troubling story about a Blue Jacket’s financial woes and why they appear to have been caused by his parents. We’ll talk actual hockey, too, and why the Jackets are so bad.
We’ll have conversations with two college football coaches taking their teams into the playoffs this weekend.
Buckeyes
But first, the Buckeyes are still working on their playoff run. The OSU football team is number six in the latest playoff rankings…they moved up again this week after their win at Minnesota. For more on that and this Saturday’s game against Indiana, we caught up with Rob Oller from the Columbus Dispatch.
DII and DIII Playoffs
The Buckeyes are great and all, but they’re no Mount Union. Because no one is… their success if just crazy. Their football team is back in the Division III playoffs this weekend. Maybe an even more compelling story is Ohio Dominican, they’re back in the playoffs this weekend, as well. For more on that, we called head coach Bill Conley.
We also talked to Vince Kehres, head coach of the Mount Union football team, to talk about their playoff run.
Blue Jackets
The Columbus Dispatch broke a big, and really a heartbreaking piece this week about Columbus Blue Jacket Jack Johnson. Aaron Portzline, a good friend of the show, did a great job detailing how Johnson went from a third overall draft pick, taken two spots behind Sidney Crosby… to bankrupt.
NCAA Final Four in Columbus
On to a little happier story now: Columbus has landed a major sporting event! Kind of major, anyway. The women’s basketball Final Four is coming to Columbus in 2018. The women’s basketball national champion will be crowded right here in Columbus, in Nationwide Arena. We talked to Linda Logan from the Greater Columbus Sports Commission.
