Big Ten Media Days, Ultra Marathon Running and Ray Rice highlights this episode of After The Score.
Big Ten
This week on After The Score, WOSU Public Media’s Thomas Bradley and Steve Brown talk to Ben Axelrod from Bleacher Report. Axelrod was at Big Ten Media Days in Chicago and had the chance to talk to Urban Meyer, Braxton Miller and the rest of the Big Ten.
Ultra Running
If 26.2 miles isn’t enough running for you, they are other options out there. And it’s called Ultra-Marathon running. Any distance beyond 26.2 miles is considered ultra-running, and at least one Columbus man, PJ Jaegersen, is participating in the Burning River 100, a 100 mile race connecting Cleveland to Akron this weekend.
As if that’s not crazy enough, a Cincinnati man, Harvey Lewis won the Badwater 135. Yes. That’s a 135-mile race through the California dessert… Through Death Valley. He won it in just under 24 hours. Unreal.
Ray Rice
Last week the NFL handed out a 2-game suspension for Ray Rice. He was caught on tape knocking out his then-fiance, now wife, at a club and dragging her out of an elevator. Steve and Thomas discuss what this suspension means, and what it says about the NFL’s stance on domestic violence.
