If a scenario plays out that Team USA is eliminated from Olympic hockey, don’t be surprised to see a ton of midwesterners rooting for Russia in the Olympics. Why is that?
The Columbus Blue Jackets are well represented on Team Russia. FedorTyutin, ArtemAnisimov, Sergei Bobrovsky and Nikita Nikitin are all current members of the Columbus Blue Jackets and team Russia. Steve Brown and Thomas Bradley from WOSU Public Media‘s After The Score spoke with Aaron Portzline (@aportzline) of the Columbus Dispatch to talk about Olympic hockey. (0:37)
Men’s Tennis
Most of Ohio State and a lot of the nation was talking about Ohio State football’s 24-game winning streak. Two seasons undefeated. While that record is impressive. It’s certainly not the most impressive record at the university. The Ohio State Men’s tennis team has a record that, really, you won’t believe. For 181 consecutive home matches, Ohio State tennis has not lost. That’s home-field advantage if there has ever been one. This record dates back to 2003. Steve and Thomas sat down with Peter Kobelt (@theotherkobe), a senior on the men’s tennis team, to talk about his career and the consecutive win streak. (7:45)
LOL Browns
Changes, changes and more changes. The Browns seem to be in a constant state of disarray in Cleveland. Joe Banner is out. Mike Lombardi is out. Ray Farmer is in. And the rest of the league is laughing quietly, or not so quietly, at the Browns. WCPN’s Nick Castele reports on the shake up, and Steve and Thomas react to the situation in Berea, Ohio. (13:41)
