Ohio State basketball was in some trouble in January. They lost games they should not have. They not only lost them, they looked terrible. Dropping six games in January, the Buckeyes seem to be back on track. With wins over Iowa and Wisconsin, the Buckeyes are once again in position to compete near the top of the Big Ten conference.

Steve Brown and Thomas Bradley of WOSU Public Media’s After The Score spoke to Ben Axelrod (@BenAxelrod) of Buckeye Sports Bulletin about this Ohio State basketball team.

Maybe a little over-shadowed by other news surrounding Ohio State, athletic director Gene Smith was given a promotion to vice president and given a substantial raise. The announcement of the raise and promotion came just 48 hours before the university announced its choice for new president of the university, Michael V. Drake. After the Score spoke to Rob Oller (@rollerCD) from the Columbus Dispatch about the promotion and the legacy Smith is leaving on Ohio State.

Much like Ohio State basketball, the Columbus Blue Jackets have been streaky lately, and the latest streak is a three game winning streak. The Jackets have two more games before the start of the Olympic break, and they hope to maintain their recent hot streak through the long break.

Did you watch the big game? You know Steve and Thomas did, and they were not impressed. Instead all they wanted to talk about were the commercials. What were some of your favorite commercials?
