Two teens charged with murder in shooting death of 14-year-old boy in South Linden

Two teens are charged with murder in the shooting death of a 14-year-old boy in Columbus' South Linden neighborhood.

Columbus police say patrol officers went to the scene of a traffic crash at the intersection of East 12th and Cleveland avenues about 7:45 p.m. Saturday.

The driver of the vehicle was found shot. He was taken to Grant Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 8:20 p.m. Saturday The Franklin County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 14-year-old Lorenzio Galloway Jr.

Members of the Columbus Police SWAT Team arrested two teen boys in the case, ages 15 and 16. The boys are charged with murder in connection with Galloway's death. Both are being held at the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center.

Police are working to determine a motive for the shooting.
