I-471 was closed in both directions early Friday morning by a fire near Pete Rose Way under the Daniel Carter Beard (Big Mac) bridge. It's not expected to open any time soon.

The Cincinnati Fire Department said the fire was under control around 5:15 a.m., but the highway remained closed. The department says it responded to a call about a vehicle fire around 3:20 a.m. and found instead a large outdoor fire at Sawyer Point involving the playset. Fifty firefighters were called to the scene.

The fire department says it's investigating the cause of the fire and working with the Ohio Department of Transportation on next steps, like determining if there's any damage to the bridge. ODOT inspectors are on the scene.

Northbound traffic was closed at the I-275 interchange. The ramps from I-71 to I-471 southbound, and from U.S. 50 east to I-471 southbound in Ohio were also closed.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet issued the following update at 7:43 a.m.

All I-471 northbound lanes will be blocked at the I-275 interchange. The following is a list of traffic impacts:
