A small plane crashed Tuesday afternoon off of Jacksontown Road and Linville Road SE in Licking County.
Ohio State Highway Patrol confirmed there has been one fatality.
OSHP said the Cessna skylane airplane had one person in it, the pilot. It crashed about one minute after taking off from Newark Heath airport.
The president emeritus of Zane State College has been identified as the pilot. Zane State College posted notice of Brown's death on its Facebook page Tuesday night.
