Financier and accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein gave a total of $336,000 to The Ohio State University before his death, an external review found.
The review, released Thursday, was conducted by accounting firm EY formerly, Ernst and Young. All of the money from Epstein and his J. Epstein Foundation went to the Wexner Center for the Arts during the 1990s.
That includes a $1,000 gift from Epstein that Ohio State revealed last July.
Epstein worked as a financial adviser for Columbus billionaire and L Brands founder Les Wexner. He also served as a trustee of the Wexner Foundation from 1992 until his firing in 2007.
Ohio State plans to donate $336,000 to the Ohio Attorney General’s Human Trafficking Initiative.
“In light of Epstein’s reprehensible crimes, retaining these gifts would not be consistent with the university’s values," the university said in a statement.
Epstein committed suicide in a Manhattan jail after he was arrested in July 2019 on sex trafficking charges.
