President Trump is delivering the 2020 "State of the Union" address, which comes under the shadow of his impeachment trial. Watch his remarks live and follow a live annotation of his remarks, including fact checks and analysis from NPR reporters.

Here's what to know ahead of Trump's address.

The impeached president speaks to Congress and the nation on the eve of what's anticipated to be his Senate acquittal on Wednesday. The White House says Trump will talk about his accomplishments in office, but isn't predicting whether Trump will stick to that script. Among the key topics Trump is expected to touch on are the economy and recent trade deals, health care, immigration and national security.

On Tuesday morning, Trump highlighting the Iowa Democrats' embarrassing technical failure that has delayed reporting of Monday's caucus results. When Trump speaks tonight, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who authorized the impeachment inquiry, will be sitting just a few feet behind him.

Following Trump's remarks, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitner is set to deliver the Democratic response, and Rep. Veronica Escobar (D-Tecas) will give a Spanish-language response.
