Three Ohio State University fraternities were suspended for violating rules on hazing and alcohol, the school said Friday.
Phi Delta Theta, Sigma Pi, and Zeta Beta Tau were suspended effective November 2010. In its letters to the fraternities, the Ohio State Office of Student Life cited allegations of underage drinking, endangering students, hazing.
Ohio State also revoked the fraternities' recognitions as registered student organizations, which means the groups can no longer access university operating and programming funds, participate in events like the Student Involvement Fair and Homecoming Parade, or host social events with sororities.
The suspensions will continue until 2023, or unless the chapters successfully appeal.
Two of these fraternities - Zeta Beta Tau and Phi Delta Beta - were placed on probation in 2017 for similar allegations.
