Starting in January, annual Ohio vehicle registration notices will include important safety information about safety recalls.
The notices are aimed at people who either dismiss safety recall notices or don't receive them because they bought their car or truck used.
When drivers get their renewal notice in the mail, it will include recall information printed on the form. The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles will use the national vehicle recall search service run by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Gov. Mike DeWine says the recall information will proactively alert motorists to potential safety issues to help prevent crashes, injuries and deaths.
Ohio is the first state to include the recall information. Recall will not prevent owners from renewing their vehicle's registration.
